Castile Soap

Castile Soap is one of our core ingredients we use in our product range. Castile soap finds it origins dating back to the 11th Century in the Mediterranean. In or around the 15th Century in Castile, a region in Spain, who transformed soap-making into an art form. The all-natural, pure Castile soap got its name from this region. The Castilians had ample access to olive oil, a key ingredient in Castile soap, thanks to the abundant olive groves that still dot the landscape of the region. Many other soaps of the time were made with animal fat, but the Castillians opted for olive oil, giving their soap a soft and mild quality that was and still is, hard to beat.

All our Castile soap that we use at Tara Soap are certified organic and are made using organic sunflower oil and organic coconut oil. Our Castile soap is certified organic, vegan friendly and Leaping Bunny certified.

Essential Oils

Peppermint Oil 

Peppermint oil can calm and soothe skin because of menthol's cooling effect. This may help ease itching and irritation from issues like hives. It also has natural anti bacterial properties. 

While peppermint oil is often included in hair products for its scent, some people use the oil specifically as a hair loss treatment.

The menthol compound in peppermint also promotes blood flow when applied to the skin, so the oil can help stimulate your scalp, encouraging hair growth.

Lemongrass Oil

Lemongrass oil is an effective cleanser for all skin types.

Its antiseptic and astringent properties make lemongrass oil perfect for getting even and glowing skin and thus part of your natural skin care routine. It can sterilize your pores, serve as a natural toner and strengthen your skin tissues.

Lemongrass oil can strengthen your hair follicles, so if you are struggling with hair loss or an itchy and irritated scalp. In addition, this oil has been proven to possess anti-dandruff properties and can even inhibit a yeast that can lead to dandruff formation.

Lemon Oil*

lemon essential oil can kill bacteria that may get trapped in pores and cause breakouts. It can also clarify your skin, gently exfoliating dead skin cells that so often become trapped in hair follicle and pores.
